Hello and welcome to this part three in a very short series of E MC data protection advice and version six videos. Considering custom reporting. In the previous videos, we looked at the use of data sources and operators to create a simple custom report design, either by modifying an existing report template or creating a new report template from scratch. In this video, we will consider applying a condition to filter the custom report output. We will use one of the existing custom reports we have created previously in part one and extend this with a condition applied to the data source.
The objective in this video is to create a report template to display all full level jobs here, we'll start with a copy of the custom job details report template which we created in part one of this series and save the copy as custom full level jobs with our usual prefix as an identifier. We have also amended the template description. So let's now select this new template for editing to improve efficiency. As we have previously, let's expand the properties of the data source and uncheck. The include all box immediately reducing 63 fields down to the 11 key fields.
We do however need to re add the level status size and start and end time fields for our required template. Opening the condition panel for editing, we may now build our filter. We are looking to report on only full level back ups. So let's open the select field and select level as the required field and click. Ok. Under select operator, we will find several options and in this case, we are matching when the level field is equal to a specific value. And that value option will be presented under select value. In this instance, the target value will be a static value rather than a variable or the contents of another field. So ensuring the static value radio button is checked, enter the word full in the value box.
Our simple condition may now be seen here. We may now specify the report ordering in the advanced panel, check the order flag box. And in this instance, we'll order on the size field. And I want to see this descending in size. Let's now preview what we have created using backup servers as our scope and last hour as our time period, we'll maximize the report. And we may see that as we scroll right, the filter for full level jobs has been applied and that the report is ordered by descending size note that we also selected the status field. And this shows two failures of zero size.
This is just the report we wanted to create and on returning to the modify custom template panel, we may save and close. As previously, we can see our fields and other template information here. And of course, before we may use this, we must add it to a menu. As you have seen previously in this part three of the series, we've looked at using a condition applied to a data source in effect, applying another filter. In part four, we'll look at an alternative to the previously seen summarizing of data. And in this next video, we'll investigate the use of the extended job roll up operator. Thank you for watching.
