This video covers the key graphical user interface changes in Windows 11, including the centered taskbar, organized Start menu, Snap Layouts, and the new widgets panel. Learn how to navigate and take advantage of these improvements.
These are the key changes in Windows 11’s new graphical user interface. The taskbar’s standard buttons are now aligned in the center. The system tray, battery, time and date, and notifications are still in the same place. However, the notifications panel and calendar can now be accessed together. Network, sound, battery, and screen brightness settings are also grouped.
The Start menu is now more organized, showing pinned apps at the top with the option to see all apps and a recommended list. At the very bottom are your account options and the power button. The search option menu has tabs specifically dedicated to searching items. You can search just for apps, in your PC, only from the web, and more.
Virtual desktops allow you to switch between your open workspaces and manage any new ones. The desktop and folder icons have a fresh look, and Windows pop-ups and menus have smoother, rounded borders. The top right maximize/restore button has a new option called Snap Layouts. This arranges your windows to help you multitask and stay organized.
Right-click anywhere on the desktop to see how the context menu has been updated. And finally, the widgets button reveals a left panel with content specifically tailored to your needs and preferences.
