How to Monitor the Power Consumption of a PowerEdge Servers

The Dell Server iDRAC interface allows you the ability to track and monitor the power consumption of your PowerEdge Servers. You can check the PSU health and power consumption over set periods of time to ensure things are working correctly.

How to monitor your server power consumption. To start with, log in to your iDRAC using your username and password. The default being “root” and “calvin”, and select Log In. This will take you to your iDRAC dashboard.

From here, you want to select System at the top and this will load up your system overview showing you the different components and the component you want is Power.

This will now show you your active power supplies and show you the power consumption over set periods of time. The default showing is hours, but you can change this from days and weeks, and change it from Watts to Amps. And that's it.
