Follow the steps to keep your system running smoothly and efficiently.
Minimize the risk of overheating by following these simple tips. Be aware of your PC's environment and your work area. Restricted airflow can lead to overheating and cause serious performance issues. Make sure the vents on your system are unobstructed and free from dust and other debris. Cleaning the vents regularly with a soft brush or compressed air will help maintain the proper ventilation inside the computer. Avoid using the laptop on top of soft surfaces such as carpeting, pillows, and blankets.
These types of surfaces often obstruct airflow. Hard, flat surfaces, such as a desk, table, or laptop tray are best, as they allow proper ventilation. Desktops should have enough open space around them, especially where the system's vents are facing. Keep drivers up to date with Dell Support Assist.
