We'd like to introduce you to the new Dell data protection remote management console. The remote management console has a new look and feel with a responsive HTML five design. You can view on any screen size. If you've migrated from an earlier version of EE or VE server, the policies that are in play in your organization have been migrated to this server version. This is important because a few default values have changed in the server version. However, no changes will be seen on your existing devices. Be sure to browse around the user interface to check out the new policy values before applying policy to new users or devices.
Now we'll explore the new interface and discuss some of the newest features. One of the first things you'll see on any page you visit is this question mark icon. It's a location and contact sensitive help feature, ready to provide specific instructions and information about your current location. Click home from here to open the table of contents for access to all help information on the menu pane to the left. You will see populations, each population page contains tabs appropriate to the population, the security policies tab shows available policies. Each technology group is accompanied by a status icon. A green check indicates the master switch for the group is on all policies in this group will be sent to clients. The next time policies are committed. A gray X means the master switch for that policy group is off. A gear icon means the policy group contains only settings but no master switch. A red flag indicates that at least one default setting in the group has been overridden. A clock icon with a red flag means a change has been made to the policy but it is not committed from the security policy page.
You will see override, count and uncommitted overrides which summarize all overrides to default settings to delete a saved but uncommitted change to a default value hover over the red flag until it changes to a red ax.
