NetWorker: Creating a Data Domain device fails with error: Authentication type AUTH_NONE not adequate

Symptoms
Data Domain device creation fails in NetWorker, the following error is observed:
authentication error: Rd=SN-NAME:DD-NAME_DEV-NAME Authentication type AUTH_NONE not adequate
Where SN-NAME is the name of the remote storage node.
Where DD-NAME is the name of the Data Domain.
Where DEV-NAME is the name of the device user is attempting to create.
Cause
Corrupted NetWorker peer information between the NetWorker server and the Storage Node managing the device.
Resolution
Clear the NetWorker peer information on both the NetWorker server and storage nodes observing this failure. One of the following methods can be used:
- NetWorker: How to clear NSR peer information mismatches automatically using nsradmin -C
- NetWorker: Fixing inconsistent NSR peer information
NOTE: If the NetWorker Management Console (NMC) server is on a separate host from the NetWorker server, the NMC server's peer information should also be cleared.
