Symptoms

Dell Micron 9550 E3.S NVMe Drive Activity-Led light turns off for a few seconds at two specific times.

  • When the server is powered on
  • In the middle of the startup process before staying ON

Cause

Root cause of the activity-Led lights turning off for a few seconds is understood.

The activity (Green) LED is turned OFF during system boot when the host disables the controller.

 

 

Resolution

This is a cosmetic issue only and does not affect the drive functionality in any way. 

The issue has been acknowledged by Dell Engineering and is slated for resolution in a future drive firmware maintenance release.
