Symptoms

Ethernet port is listed as faulted.

Cause

This alert indicates that a virtual Ethernet Port on the Dell Unity VSA or an Ethernet Port on the physical ESXi server has faulted.
 

Resolution

  • Check the Dell UnityVSA system log for errors or warnings. 

  • If nothing is found using the below steps, reboot the Storage Processor.

     

1. Check the port status: UI > Settings > Access > Ethernet

2. Check the Dell UnityVSA logs for errors:  UI > Service > Logs

3. Check the underlying physical ESXi server for any faults on the Ethernet Interfaces.

4. Verify all cables are plugged-in and not dirty or crimped.
