Symptoms
Laptop reports PNP_DETECTED_FATAL_ERROR Error connecting to VMware Horizon Virtual Machine
Dell Latitude and Precision laptops may stop responding and report a "PNP_DETECTED_FATAL_ERROR." This occurs when connecting to VMware Horizon Virtual Machine and transferring USB devices from the client device.
This affects the following products:
- Dell Latitude Laptops with an Infrared Camera
- Dell Precision Mobile Workstations with an Infrared Camera
Cause
This behavior is only seen on those laptops with an integrated infrared camera.
Resolution
Dell Engineering has worked with VMware, and their advice is to disable redirection for the Infrared Camera.
