Avamar: Unable to Restore Using Remote Backup with LDAP Account

Symptoms

During a restore using remote backup, the restore fails with the following error:

vrepl Error <42050>: Replication error: avmgr Info <5008>: Logging to /usr/local/avamar/var/client/MOD-1234567890123-1008-Replicate-avreplscript.log
avrepl Error <42046>: Replication of REPLICATE/avamar-source/domain/client-name /REPLICATE/avamar-source/domain/client-name aborted due to avmgr Info <5008>: Logging to /usr/local/avamar/var/client/MOD-1234567890123-1008-Replicate-avreplscript.log

Cause

This is working as designed. The remote backup restore is using a Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) account, in this case "--id=user@domainame.com".

The "avmgr logn" command does not work with LDAP accounts.

Resolution

Use an Avamar local account such as MCUser.
