Symptoms

Sybase scheduled backup fails when using SYBASE_USERKEY in nmda_sybase_backup.cfg.

Error logged in the policy-workflow-action log:

nsrdasv: CT-LIBRARY error:
ct_con_props(): user api layer: external error: Reading information from secure store failed at com_getenv(HOME)
nsrdasv: Unable to log in to the database <Database name>.
nsrdasv: Unable to log in to the database <Database name>.
nsrdasv: The child nsrdasv exited with a non-zero return code: 65280

Client initiated backup using "nsrdasv -z  <nmda_sybase_backup.cfg>" works fine.

Cause

Working as designed.
The Sybase user store feature is only supported for manual backups and does not support scheduled backups.

Resolution

Run a client initiated backup using the nsrdasv command when logged with the Sybase OS user.

An example command looks like this:

$ /usr/sbin/nsrdasv -z /nsr/apps/config/nmda_sybase_backup.cfg
