Instructions
The backup encryption key must be manually created after CloudLink is deployed with PowerFlex Manager:
From CloudLink Center UI, go to System > Backup > Actions > Generate and Download New Key.
This creates the backup encryption key, and it should be saved in a secure location. Any subsequent CloudLink backups use this encryption key until the key is manually updated.
Once the key is created, the backup store can be configured to use CloudLink's local storage or to an FTP site. If local storage is used, the backups must be manually downloaded from CloudLink regularly.
It is recommended that users have regular backups of CloudLink in case it ever must be rebuilt due to a VM failure. If CloudLink becomes corrupted or unavailable due to a disk failure or human error and there is no backup, all the data protected by CloudLink may be lost.
