Symptoms

Podczas inwentaryzacji programu Dell System Update (DSU) 2.0.0 dla oprogramowania VMware ESXi występuje następujący błąd:

Inventory file not found - /scratch/opt/dell/dell_dup/inv.xml
Progress report is available at:/scratch/opt/dell/dell_dup/DSU_STATUS.json
Exiting DSU!

Cause

Jest to spowodowane próbą uruchomienia przez DSU modułu Inventory Collector, który nie jest obsługiwany przez VMware ESXi. Oprogramowanie DSU 2.0.0 dla ESXi musi być zawsze uruchamiane w trybie "passthough", który zbiera informacje o oprogramowaniu wewnętrznym bezpośrednio z kontrolera iDRAC zamiast z modułu Inventory Collector działającego w systemie operacyjnym.

Resolution

W przypadku uruchamiania dowolnej metody DSU na hoście VMware ESXi w konsoli lokalnej, przez SSH lub zdalnie z innej instancji DSU należy zawsze dodawać następujące opcje wiersza polecenia: 
--use-idrac-passthrough --source-type=REPOSITORY
