Symptoms

De volgende fout treedt op tijdens de inventarisatiefase bij het uitvoeren van Dell System Update (DSU) 2.0.0 voor VMware ESXi:

Inventory file not found - /scratch/opt/dell/dell_dup/inv.xml
Progress report is available at:/scratch/opt/dell/dell_dup/DSU_STATUS.json
Exiting DSU!

Cause

Dit wordt veroorzaakt doordat DSU probeert de Inventory Collector-module uit te voeren die zelf niet wordt ondersteund op VMware ESXi. DSU 2.0.0 voor ESXi moet altijd worden uitgevoerd in "passthough"-modus, die firmware-inventaris rechtstreeks van de iDRAC verzamelt in plaats van de Inventory Collector-module die op het besturingssysteem wordt uitgevoerd.

Resolution

Wanneer u een DSU-methode uitvoert op een VMware ESXi-host in de lokale console, via SSH of op afstand vanaf een andere DSU-instantie, moet u altijd de volgende opdrachtregelopties toevoegen: 
--use-idrac-passthrough --source-type=REPOSITORY
