Cause

Failure to disconnect virtual media during after the manufacturing process.

Resolution

In the cases examined, the issue occurred and stopped within seconds and did not repeat the same day. Further checking confirmed it did not repeat within the next 7 days.

Workaround:
Check if VTE iDRAC has Virtual Media attached on the VTE where the ipmievd error occurred by running the below command:

# racadm get idrac.Virtualmedia.attached

Examples:
If Virtual Media is attached:
vte1:~ # racadm get idrac.Virtualmedia.attached
[Key=idrac.Embedded.1#VirtualMedia.1]
Attached=Attached

If Virtual Media is *not* attached:
vte1:~ # racadm get idrac.Virtualmedia.attached
[Key=idrac.Embedded.1#VirtualMedia.1]
Attached=AutoAttach OR Attached=Detached

A workaround (non disruptive   iDRAC internal settings modification only) to prevent further occurrence, is to detach Virtual Media. Execute the following on the VTE with the error:

vte1:~ # racadm set idrac.Virtualmedia.attached 0
[Key=idrac.Embedded.1#VirtualMedia.1]
Object value modified successfully

Verify:o

vte1:~ # racadm get idrac.Virtualmedia.attached
[Key=idrac.Embedded.1#VirtualMedia.1]
Attached=Detached
