Symptoms

AppSync server uninstalled.

Unable to reinstall the Appsync server after uninstalling the AppSync Server.
The AppSync installation wizard shows "welcome to repair wizard for EMC Appsync".

Cause

Under C:\Program Files (x86)\Zero G Registry, there is a file named .com.zerog.registry.xml which was not cleaned by AppSync during uninstall.

Resolution

  1. Go to Windows folder and view options.
  2. Select view tab> select show hidden files, folders and drives> Apply.
  3. Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Zero G Registry, delete .com.zerog.registry.xml file.
Note: C:\Program Files (x86)\Zero G Registry is a hidden directory.

Additional Information

Note: a review of AppSync files in the following directories may be needed as well:
  • C:\tmp
  • C:\Windows\Temp
Remove any AppSync related files in the above directories if found.
