Symptoms

  • VMware VMバックアップ ソリューションは、NetWorker VMware Protection(NVP)vProxyアプライアンスを使用して構成されます。
  • VMバックアップが次のエラーで失敗します。
YYYY-MM-DDTHH:mm:SSZ ERROR:  Request to remove snapshot 'snapshot-###' on VM 'VM_NAME' was rejected by vCenter 'Hypervisor_Name': ServerFaultCode: Current license or ESXi version prohibits execution of the requested operation.

Cause

このエラー メッセージは、VMware APIからvProxyアプライアンスに返されます。スナップショットの作成または削除操作中に、vProxyアプライアンスは、適切な作成または削除操作を実行するリクエストをvCenterに送信します。

この問題の根本原因は、無料(非商用)VMwareライセンスでは、VMware vSphere Storage API - Data Protectionの十分なサポートが提供されない点です。

Resolution

次の2つのオプションがあります。

オプション1:

VMware vSphere Storage API - Data Protection(旧称VMware vStorage APIs for Data Protection(VADP))をサポートするVMwareライセンスを取得するには、VMwareライセンスに連絡する必要があります。適切なライセンスが適用されると、NVP vProxyソリューションはVMwareイメージ ベースの保護をサポートします。 
 

オプション2:

この方法は、商用VMwareライセンスを取得できない場合に使用できます。VMwareイメージ ベースの保護をサポートしていません。保護が必要なVMにNetWorkerクライアント ソフトウェアをインストールします。仮想マシンは、物理システムと同様にバックアップおよびリカバリーできます。
