ECS: xDoctor: RAP056: FCLI is not reporting correctly

Symptoms

xDoctor reports that FCLI is not reporting correctly:

    Timestamp = 2018-02-13_182423

    RAP      = RAP056
    Solution = 479704

Cause

xDoctor called FCLI and went defunct. xDoctor kept calling the crons jobs which caused a node issue. This is fixed in xDoctor 4.8-35 or later.

Resolution

FCLI commands do not respond in a timely manner on the node and can indicate an issue.

Run the following checks:

  1. Run the following command to see if this issue is occurring:

IMPORTANT! If you see entries like this "[fcli] <defunct>" then the affected nodes must be rebooted.

 

  1. Open a service request with Dell technical support.

Note: This is fixed in xDoctor 4.8-35 and later, but a reboot is still required to clean the old defunct processes.
