Instructions

Below is the scenario of A/C power loss for any Unity storage array:

  • Any A/C power loss event of 10 ms or more leads to initiating a cache vault to the M2.SATA device, and results in the system shutting down
  • Upon loss of A/C power, Storage Processors immediately reboot into low_power_mode, and while on battery, vault cache to the local M2.SATA drive. All CPU cores are shut down except one, and any other  non-essential services are shut down during the vaulting process.
  • Once the Vault is saved to /dev/vault, the system will shut down, or if A/C power has been restored before the system shuts off, the system will reboot and come online up in normal mode.
