Instructions

Investigation by Engineering has determined that a disknogc value of 89% is acceptable to maintain adequate OS capacity and, starting January 2019, the new standard default setting of the Avamar GSAN parameter "disknogc" option will change from 85 to 89.

The proactive_check script v5.1 and later will now prompt to raise the disknogc limit to 89% from the old default of 85% if it has not already been raised.

Avamar Support will apply this change as part of standard troubleshooting activity but if desired it can be set with the command "avmaint config disknogc=89 --ava".

The value must only be changed to 89% and no higher or this will render a system outside of supported bounds and could result in irreversible damage and data loss.
