Data Domain: How to delete the support bundle and core files from admin mode

Summary: Deleting the support bundle and core file from the admin mode instead of using bash mode as after upgrade to DD OS 6.1, bash mode is restricted.

Instructions

Issue: How to delete the support bundle and core files from the admin mode in DD. Sometimes DD becomes unresponsive as the /ddr/var partition reached to 100% due to excessive log files such as support bundle and core file in the support  or core directory.

Resolution:

Deleting the support bundle and core files from the admin mode.

1. To list the support bundle in the /ddr/var/support directory

#support bundle list

2. To delete the support bundle.

#support bundle delete (file name)

sysadmin@ddve3060# support bundle delete ddve3060-support-bundle-0810125218.tar.gz.spltad
Deleted ddve3060-support-bundle-0810125218.tar.gz.spltad.

3. To list the core files in the core directory

#support core dump list

4. To delete the core dump file.

sysadmin@ddve60# support coredump delete sms.core.5994.1541727146.gz
Deleted sms.core.5994.1541727146.gz.

Note: As customer do not have the access for bash mode  after upgrade to DD OS 6.1 for security reasons, they can remove the files from the admin mode also.
