Instructions

When configuring systems for Network Time Protocol (NTP), it is also common to adjust the Time Zone to the local physical location of the array.

The Unity platform can be configured for use with NTP, however you cannot change the time zone configured on the system. The Unity platform is hard coded to follow the industry standard Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) or Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). The Unity UI time display is offset based on this standard. When logging in by the Unity UI, the time is auto translated to display the users local workstation time zone. Time from the GMT or UTC is translated and displayed to the user with the local workstation Time Zone settings. On the Unity array, it is not necessary to change the underlying time zone.

If the time zone is displayed incorrectly in the Unity web interface, check your local web browser settings to ensure any needed changes. This is only a local browser change and not a change on the Unity platform.

Additional Information

It is recommended to configure the Unity platform for NTP to help keep the entire environment synchronized. This helps with alignment of messages in the event logs.

NOTE: The Time Zone Name may be incorrect when using Firefox, if so use Internet Explorer.
