자동 사용자 매핑 프로세스는 Unix UID와 Windows SID를 함께 매핑합니다. 이 작업은 UDS의 사용자 이름을 AD의 사용자 이름과 일치시켜 수행됩니다.  Unix 사용자는 NFS를 사용하여 Unix 또는 기본 액세스 정책으로 구성된 파일 시스템에 액세스할 때 해당 Windows 사용자에 매핑할 필요가 없습니다.

시스템은 동일한 사용자 이름이 UDS(Unix Directory Service) 및 Windows AD(Active Directory)에 정의된 경우 자동으로 Windows 사용자를 Unix 사용자에게 매핑합니다. 여기서 CIFS(SMB) 파일 공유를 사용할 때는 내부 사용자 매퍼가 사용되지만 멀티 프로토콜 파일 공유를 사용할 때는 외부 사용자 매퍼가 사용됩니다. 

Unity Replication에서 NAS 서버를 복제할 때 사용자 매핑 정보가 랩 환경에서 테스트한 것처럼 타겟에 복제됩니다.
