Instructions

  • 000023676: Dell Unity: How to Gather Service Data Collects (Logs) From A Unity Array (User Correctable) (A Dell Support account is required to view this article)

In the extracted Dell Unity Data Collects, there is a list of available dumps in the file:

spX\dc_logs\disc_use_after_DC.txt

(Where X is the storage processor to check for dumps for: A or B)

Search for "/EMC/backend/service/data_collection/cores" (there will be two found - one of the name of the location, the second will show what is in the location).
Example:

/EMC/backend/service/data_collection/cores:
total 20

drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Nov  9 22:41 core-dump_dump_spa_ARRAYSERIALNUMBER_2016-11-09_22_22_04_12152_postgres_dir
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Nov 12 23:46 core-dump_dump_spa_ARRAYSERIALNUMBER_2016-11-12_23_36_24_13745_Kdriver.exe_dir
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Jul 25 15:32 kdump_spa_ARRAYSERIALNUMBER_2016-07-20_17_44_01_dir

Although this KB serves to show how to look for dump files, this file (disc_use_after_DC.txt) contains a list of most directories and files present on this SP at the time when the Data Collects were run, which can be used to check for the presence of any file on this SP.

Another file that lists the available dumps is:

\spX\cmd_outputs\svc_data\svc_dc_-lcd.txt
(Where X is the storage processor to check for dumps for: A or B)
