Dell Unity: Storage Processor Rescue Reason Error Code: 0x1b01

Symptoms

One or both Storage Processors may be in Service Mode with the following Rescue Reason:

* Boot Faults:  0x1b00
* Rescue Reason:        0x1b01
* Rescue reason for code 0x1b01 - There is a problem with the system software on this Storage Processor. To attempt to correct this problem, first run Data Collection, and then try the following in order: Check all cables, reboot each SP, and reimage each Storage Processor (SP). If this does not resolve the issue, contact your service provider.

 

The following additional error codes and messages may also be generated during this issue:

  • ERROR" "1:1678040
  • Storage Processor SP B has faulted and is in Service Mode with reason code 6913
  • Storage Processor SP A has faulted and is in Service Mode with reason code 6913
  • SERVICE_ERR_0x1b01

Cause

The sep module in the safe service typically causes this issue. For evidence of this, review the following logs locations:.
