Symptoms
Insufficient Disk Space warning when upgrading Unisphere for VMAX 8.3.0.1 to 8.3.0.8
Insufficient Disk Space.
If you do not have enough disk space, the install may
succeed, but the application may not function properly
and you may loose application data.
SYSTEM INSTALL DEVICE NAME = [D:\]
TOTAL DISK SPACE = [279G]
USED DISK SPACE = [234G]
FREE DISK SPACE = [45G]
FREE DISK SPACE SOFTWARE REQUIREMENT = [120G]
ADDITIONAL FREE DISK SPACE REQUIRED= [75G]
Cause
Note this is a Warning and is meant for new Installations.
Resolution
This warning can be ignored and customer may proceed with upgrade. Please note, the same warning was present on previous upgrades.
Our recommendation to all customers is to please take back up before any upgrade.
We will modify this warning message in a future version of Unisphere for VMAX to distinguish from fresh installations to upgrade installations.
