Symptoms
Error received when attempting to create a snapshot:
ERROR: Snapshot creation on storage resource Year-Month-Day failed because the maximum number of snapshots have been created for this storage resource.
ERROR: Snapshot creation on storage resource Year-Month-Day failed because the maximum number of snapshots have been created for this storage resource.
Cause
The issue is caused when the user has reached the maximum number of snapshots on this particular resource.
Resolution
There is support for 256 snapshots per LUN and file system. The array displays an error if a user tries to create more snapshots.
