Symptoms

Der Backup-Optimierungsmodus wurde für die VMware-Schutzgruppe geändert. 

Die Integration von NetWorker VMware Protection wird mit der vProxy-Appliance konfiguriert. Die Backups für eine VMware Protection-Gruppe schlagen fehl und weisen darauf hin, dass der Backupmodus für die virtuelle Maschine (VM) nicht übereinstimmt. In den Details der Backupaktion und im Protokoll wird Folgendes angezeigt:

MM/DD/YYYY HH:mm:SS [VM_NAME]: Falling back to the previous backup mode 'VSS'. The configured backup mode 'FSS_8K' does not match the previous mode. Run a full backup to switch the backup mode.

Cause

Der Backup-Optimierungsmodus wurde für die VMware-Schutzgruppe nach der Durchführung des ersten kompletten Backups auf Ebene Null geändert. Das Ändern des Backupoptimierungsmodus einer VM erfordert ein neues komplettes Backup (Level Null), das als Baseline für zukünftige Backups dient.

Resolution

Ändern Sie die Konfiguration der Backupaktion, um ein komplettes Backup für den neuen Optimierungsmodus zu erzwingen. Sobald das komplette Backup abgeschlossen ist, kann die Konfiguration der Backupaktion wieder in inkrementell geändert werden.

Additional Information

Stellen Sie sicher, dass das Data Domain-Gerät über ausreichend Kapazität verfügt. Während des Übergangs sind beide Backupmodi vorhanden, wodurch sich die Speichernutzung verdoppelt, bis das letzte Optimized for Capacity-Backup gemäß seiner Aufbewahrungsfrist abläuft. Danach kehrt der Storage-Verbrauch zum Normalwert zurück.
