Symptoms
- After a DIP conversion took place successfully, a domain joined NAS Server was created. The SMB configuration failed due to system time not being within 5 minutes of the Active Directory server which was the same server as NTP. This was odd because prior to the upgrade, the NTP server was configured successfully in system settings and they were able to create a NAS Server with Active Directory successfully.
Cause
DIP conversion process did not update the system time during the DIP conversion process.
Resolution
Checking settings, it was seen that the system time was not aligned with the NTP server time even though the IP address remained configured. After removing the NTP server address and re-adding it then rebooting the system, the time was correct again and NAS server creation passed well.
