Avamar: VSS-back-up mislukt met fout 32 voor EFIMicrosoftBootBCD vanwege een probleem met bestandstoegang

Symptoms

De volgende symptomen zijn waargenomen:

  • Avamar Windows VSS back-up wordt voltooid met uitzonderingen:
[avtar] direlem error:init_ntfs_hardlink: Open file for hardlink information failed 
"\\?\GLOBALROOT\Device\HarddiskVolume1\EFI\Microsoft\Boot\BCD", LastError=32 
(code 32: The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process)
  • Het avtar-proces geeft deze fout weer:
avtar Error <5139>: File access share error "\\?\GLOBALROOT\Device\HarddiskVolume1\EFI\Microsoft\Boot\BCD"

  • Het probleem moet worden opgelost door de onderstaande vlag aan het avtar.cmd-bestand toe te voegen:
--x31=268435456
  • In sommige gevallen blijft het probleem bestaan en wordt een nieuwe fout weergegeven:

  • Dit gedrag resulteert in een back-up die wordt voltooid met fouten, wat later leidt tot mislukte pogingen om Bare Metal Recovery (BMR) uit te voeren.
  • Getroffen omgeving: Alle versies van Avamar VSS Plugin en Windows 2012 en hoger wanneer EFI-partities zijn geconfigureerd.

Cause

Dit probleem is geïdentificeerd als een softwareprobleem dat zich voordoet met Microsoft Windows 2012 servers en latere versies met geconfigureerde EFI-partities.
 
Let op: De BCD-directory (Boot Configuration Data) die in het logboek wordt vermeld, kan niet worden uitgesloten van de back-up omdat deze na BMR-herstel in Windows moet worden opgestart.

Resolution

Als de code 32-fout wordt aangetroffen wanneer de Avamar Windows VSS plug-in een back-up maakt van "EFI\Microsoft\Boot\BCD". 
Zorg ervoor dat u de vlag "--x31=268435456" toevoegt aan het avtar.cmd-bestand en pas de HotFix (HF) toe op basis van de versie van de clientplug-in.

  • v19.9-100-78 => HF 338870 
  • v19.10-100-135 => Geen HF beschikbaar, upgrade naar build 166 en pas de bijbehorende HF toe
  • v19.10-100-166 (SP1) => HF-338885
  • v19.12-100-186 =>HF 338884

Als u de hotfix wilt toepassen, volgt u de instructies van Dell Support met behulp van het README-bestand of raadpleegt u het Dell Knowledge Base-artikel voor de specifieke hotfix.

Nadat u de hotfix hebt toegepast, start u de Avamar Windows VSS-plug-inservice opnieuw en probeert u opnieuw een back-up te maken van de directory "EFI\Microsoft\Boot\BCD".

Controleer of het probleem is opgelost door de Avamar-logboeken te controleren op fouten met betrekking tot de directory "EFI\Microsoft\Boot\BCD".

Let op: Als het probleem zich blijft voordoen nadat u de hotfix hebt toegepast, neemt u contact op met Dell Support voor verdere hulp.
