Unisphere for VMAX: Not showing or discovering VMAX storage array.

Summary: Upon reinstalling the software, Unisphere for VMAX was not able to discover, or show the VMAX array.

Symptoms

Unisphere for VMAX version 1.5.0.6 is not able to discover the array. 

Solutions Enabler is able to discover the array successfully (as shown in the following output): 
C:\Program Files\EMC\SYMCLI\bin>symcfg list

    Cause

    Environment:

    • Operating System: Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise
    • Platform: VMware
    • Solutions Enabler Version: 7.6.2.8
    • Unisphere for VMAX: 1.5.0.6

    Resolution

    To address this issue, upgrade Unisphere for VMAX to version 1.6.2.13 or later.
