Symptoms
The Hyper-V CSV Cluster backup is failing with the following error message:
avhypervvss Info <0000>: Error in getting the 'ParentPath' of the VHD file.
avhypervvss Error <18765>: Unable to resolve cluster node '' to an IP address.
avhypervvss Error <19366>: Unable to send sub-workorders to all remote clients
avhypervvss Error <41659>: Backup did not complete successfully
avhypervvss Error <18765>: Unable to resolve cluster node '' to an IP address.

The avhypervvss.cmd file contain the following flags:
--proxy=true
--multi-proxy=node1-hostname, node2-hostname
--change-csv-ownership=true
--enable-incremental=false
--multi-proxy=node1-hostname, node2-hostname
--change-csv-ownership=true
--enable-incremental=false
Same issue can also be seen with the following flag:
--clusternode=node1-name(node-IP-address), node2-name(node-IP-address)
The single node backup works fine.
Cause
Environmental issue, the Hyper-V servers were not up to date.
Resolution
Install the latest MS updates on the Hyper-V servers:
- Clean Avamar proxy set up using the "Avamar Cluster Config" tool.
- Re-created the Avamar proxy from scratch using the same tool.
