Symptoms

During the SQL cluster setup, the wizard.log reports the following error:

2017-05-02 13:28:18 av_cluster_config_wizard ERROR<0000>: Failed to install 'Avamar Backup Agent for NAME' due to the following reason: Overlapped I/O operation is in progress 

2017-05-02 13:28:18 av_cluster_config_wizard DEBUG<0000>: UpdateStatusAndList: Failed to install 'Avamar Backup Agent for NAME' due to the following reason: Overlapped I/O operation is in progress 

2017-05-02 13:28:18 av_cluster_config_wizard ERROR<0000>: Service on nodes not installed 

Cause

This message indicates leftover configuration information or Avamar cluster registration attempts.

Resolution

1)  Make sure that there are no other Avamar processes running under other users' context.

2)  Make sure that the previous Avamar Cluster backup agent service and associated entries are all removed from Services.msc console.  

3)  Restart the client server.
