Symptoms
Upgrade to 7.4.
After upgrade to 7.4, or on a fresh 7.4 Avamar, replication will fail with "Argument list too long". The log output will be similar to:

Cause
In the MCS, when an end-user has selected a parent domain, MCS will traverse all the sub domains and put the clients under them into the target list. If the clients number is too large, it will exceed the replication parameters length limitation. Then the replication will fail. Prior to 7.4, the target list would have contained just the domains selected.
Resolution
The issue has been resolved with the cumulative MCS hotfix released in June 2017 - 283346. If a more recent MCS hotfix has been applied already, then the issue should not be occurring and there is no need to attempt to apply 283346.
