Symptoms

Unity share, if a new file is copied, Windows Explorer "File Overwrite" dialog is popping up with a message "There is already a file with the same name in this location".

Choosing overwrite the file works.

This happens only if CAVA is enabled and the file being copied is included for virus checking.

Cause

The file being copied appears to be first created on Unity share with 0 bytes and later it is treated as overwriting.

This is a known issue with "scan on read" if enabled on CAVA. This is addressed in the 4.2.x.x Unity OE but for codes that is running below, Scan on Read can be disabled as a workaround.

Resolution

Disable "Scan on File Read" by "svc_cava" command from the unity console (by Enabling SSH Access, login as "service" user via ssh client to unity).

Note : This needs to be done while CAVA is still enabled.

Example:

To check current status (After enabling the CAVA) :

03:08:14 service@(none) spa:~> svc_cava NAS01 | grep "Scan on read"
1499396910: VC: 5: Scan on read if access Time is less than Thu Jul  6 23:21:13 2017 (GMT-00:00).

To disable the scan on read:

03:09:30 service@(none) spa:~> svc_cava NAS01 -set accesstime=none
NAS01 : commands processed: 1
command(s) succeeded
output is complete
...
1499396992: ADMIN: 6: Command succeeded .....

To Re-confirm:

03:09:52 service@(none) spa:~> svc_cava BNUNAS01 | grep "Scan on read"
1499397002: VC: 5: Scan on read disable.
