Che cos è Dell System Update?

DSU (Dell System Update) è uno strumento di distribuzione degli aggiornamenti ottimizzato per lo script che serve per applicare i pacchetti Dell Update (DUP) ai server Dell PowerEdge.

Nota: La versione più recente 2.1.2.0 non è supportata su ESXi 7.0 e PowerEdge 13G non è supportato a causa delle limitazioni di iDRAC.

Linux:

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.10
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.4
  • SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 15 SP5
  • SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 15 SP6
  • Ubuntu 22.04.2

Microsoft Windows:

  • Windows Server 2022
  • Windows Server 2025
  • Windows Server Hyper-Converged Infrastructure V2

ESXi:

  • ESXi 7.0 U3

Hypervisor:

  • Microsoft Windows Hyper-V

Nota: DSU è progettato per funzionare con le distribuzioni Linux della comunità come Debian.
 

Funzioni

  • Set affidabile di attributi della riga di comando (CLI)
  • Versioni di Linux, Windows ed ESXi con le stesse caratteristiche e funzionalità
  • DSU per Linux è compatibile sia con il catalogo Dell Enterprise (o un catalogo personalizzato creato tramite Dell Repository Manager) sia con il repository Linux di Dell per l'accesso ai pacchetti di aggiornamento Linux

 

Nota: Dell Technologies consiglia di utilizzare Dell Enterprise Catalog poiché viene aggiornato il lunedì, mentre Linux Repository viene aggiornato il 2° e il 4° lunedì.

L'esecuzione di Linux da una macchina virtuale richiede l'installazione dal repository Linux.
  • DSU per Windows, Linux ed ESXi funziona con Dell Enterprise Catalog (o un catalogo personalizzato creato utilizzando Dell Repository Manager)
  • Opzione per creare un'immagine ISO avviabile personalizzata
  • DSU è la tecnologia utilizzata da Dell Repository Manager per le funzioni Smart Bootable ISO e Smart Deployment Script. 
  • La Guida utente di DSU contiene un elenco completo degli attributi CLI e degli script di esempio. 

       Una volta installato DSU sul server:

  • Eseguirà l'inventario del server PowerEdge e determinerà i componenti aggiornabili installati
  • Determinerà i componenti con nuovi aggiornamenti disponibili
  • Applicherà questi aggiornamenti
