VPlex: How to list storage volumes that are eligible candidates that may be used to create metadata volumes.

Instructions

  • All storage volumes on the VPLEX will not meet the criteria for a VPLEX meta volume.
  • Storage volumes will meet the VPLEX meta volume criteria only when the volumes have the following;
  1. Storage volumes must be unclaimed.
  2. For creating the meta data volumes the storage volumes must be at least 78GB to 80GB in capacity.
  3. The available storage volumes cannot be used for any other purpose.

 

  1. The end user can list storage volumes to find which meet the criteria for a VPLEX meta volume by using the following command:

   configuration show-meta-volume-candidates

The example below is showing as blank indicating that none of the storage volumes are eligible for meta volume.
