Symptoms
PowerPath 6.2 P01 installation failed on Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2 with the error Setup encountered a problem while installing PowerPath. PowerPath installation will be rolled back. Contact Support for assistance.
Cause
Installation failed because Device Install Service and Device Setup Manager Services were not enabled at the time of the installation of PowerPath.
Resolution
Below are the steps for enabling the two services:
1. Go to Microsoft services(services.msc): Search for Device Install Service and Device Setup Manager
2. Right click on the service --> Go to Properties of those services --> Change the Startup Type to Manual .
3. Click on Apply and then start both the services.
4. Install PowerPath 6.2 P01 by running it as administrator.
