How to Collect Diagnostic Logs for Azure Stack HCI(S2D)
Summary: Azure Stack HCI (S2D) is a complex solution that includes Dell Servers, Windows Server, and Dell Switches. To be able to diagnose problems with this solution, we require logs from each of these areas. ...
Instructions
Time required: This process takes about 20 minutes.
Before escalating, have the following logs:
Run from a S2D/HCI Cluster Node with Internet Access
1. Open PowerShell as administrator

2. Copy and Paste the following command to the PowerShell windows that was opened.
[Net.ServicePointManager]::SecurityProtocol = [Net.SecurityProtocolType]::Tls12;Invoke-Expression('$module="LogCollector";$repo="PowershellScripts"'+(new-object System.net.webclient)DownloadString('https://raw.githubusercontent.com/DellProSupportGse/Tools/main/LogCollector.ps1'));Invoke-LogCollector

3. This step is for customer who is using Dell switches. Type 4, press Enter and go to step 4.

3a. This step is for customer who is not using Dell switches. Type 2,3, press Enter and go to step 6.
4. Next see GetShowTech run and be prompted to enter a comma-delimited list of the IP addresses for one or more switches and press Enter.

5. Now provide the switch login information. Username, Password, and press Enter after each one.

6. Now see TSR Collector run.

7. The first thing that it does is create a file share locally on the node running to place the TSRs once they complete. Provide administrator credentials (no domain name is required) for the node I the popup dialog and press OK. Do not worry about mistyping them as the tool verifies that the entered credentials are correct and re-prompt if needed.

8. Next, we need the iDARC admin credentials. When prompted with a popup. Enter the iDRAC administrator credentials and press OK.

9. Last, we run the RunSDDC tool which cleans up any old version and ensure that the latest version is used. This is the longest running tool in the log collection.

10 Now that we have all the logs, we remove the file share, place all the logs in a single ZIP file and open the stored location C:\Dell. If there were any errors, there is a transcript log that can be found in c:\programdata\Dell\LogCollector.

11. Then upload the LogCollector_<DateTime>.zip to the Dell case.
