NMDA / SAP IQ backup is configured following documentation.
Issue seen with:

Errors seen in log following failure:

170519:nsrdasv: Received an error from the server ''. Error code: 13720. Severity: 21. State: 0. SQL Anywhere Error -697: Error during backup/restore: The _syb_open function failed.169604:nsrdasv: Unable to back up the database 'd2dwtest'. 170484:nsrdasv: The backup was unsuccessful. The libnsriqbr and savegrp log files provide details. 170548:nsrdasv: The child nsrdasv program exited with a non-zero return code: 65280

Cause

SAP IQ User Group does not have correct user permissions defined.

Resolution

Make sure that user=sybaseuser,host=clientname.fqdn.com is defined, see example screenshot:
