AppSync should fail the job earlier when it detects the Oracle database is already in hot-backup mode, but AppSync continues to try to copy archive logs. AppSync stops responding for about 1 hour, as archive log is full.
The AppSync Events show:
2021-04-26 04:30:43.494,Create local copy, ORCL_000013,<AppSync server>,AppSync was unable to quiesce the Oracle database: orcl. Ensure that it is not quiesced already and that it is open in read-write mode.
2021-04-26 04:31:26.233,Create archLogs local copy, MILE_000003,xxx,Completed execution of a service cycle in <Service plan name>
Notice the time gap:
2021-04-26 05:30:45.294,Create local copy, ORCL_000101,<AppSync server>,One or more archive logs for database 'orcl' failed to be written. As a result, the created copy is not consistent. Check if the archive log destinations are correct and contain proper permissions and have the required free space.
Agent log that ends with _beginBackup.log on Source host shows:

AppSync software issue.
A hotfix exists for this issue. Contact Dell Technical Support and note this article ID when calling.
The hotfix prevents triggering of endBackup if there is any file already in backup. This prevents the service plan from not responding for an hour.
