TKIP Encryption Is Not Applicable When Adding a Wireless Profile to Precision 5560 and XPS 9510 Laptops
Summary: The following article provides information about the removal of TKIP encryption as a choice. This is seen when adding a New AMT wireless profile to the Precision 5560 or XPS 9510 laptops. ...
Symptoms
TKIP encryption has been removed from the Intel AMT wireless profile
If you own or use a Dell XPS 9510 laptop, or Precision 5560 mobile workstation, you should be aware of the following information:
- Temporal Key Integrity Protocol (TKIP) encryption is no longer available in an Intel Active Management Technology (AMT) session.
- You no longer have this option as a choice when adding a new wireless profile. (See Figure 1. English Only)

Cause
TKIP is no longer considered a secure connection method.
TKIP is vulnerable to a MIC key recovery attack. If successful, it permits an attacker to transmit and decrypt packets on the network being attacked.
Dell engineering has removed the TKIP encryption mode as an option, to reduce the ways your encryption and profile can be attacked.
Resolution
This affects those computers like the XPS 9510 and Precision 5560 that are sold with the Intel 11th generation Tiger Lake H processor.
Dell engineering has removed the TKIP encryption mode from the Intel 11th generation Tiger Lake H processor model because of security concerns.
The missing TKIP encryption option is the AMT session working as expected.
