How to Enable or Disable USB Boot Support in the Wyse BIOS

Instructions
Affected Products:
- Wyse 3040 Thin Client
- Wyse 5070 Thin Client
- Wyse 5470 Thin Client
- Wyse 5470 All-in-One Thin Client
Note: Ensure that the computer is on the latest BIOS, and contact technical support if you have any issues.
An administrator may either Enable or Disable USB boot support for Wyse thin clients. For more information, select the appropriate process.

Enable
To enable USB boot support:
- Power on the thin client and then press F12 when prompted to access the boot menu.
- Select BIOS Setup.

- Select Unlock.

- Populate the BIOS administrative Password and select OK.
Note: The default BIOS administrative password isFireport. The BIOS administrative password in your environment may differ. - Expand System Configuration and then select USB Configuration.

- Verify that the Enable USB Boot Support is selected.

- Select Apply.

- Optionally select Save as Custom User Settings, then click OK.

- Select Exit.

Disable
To disable secure boot:
- Power on the thin client and then press F12 when prompted to access the boot menu.
- Select BIOS Setup.

- Select Unlock.

- Populate the BIOS administrative Password and select OK.
Note: The default BIOS administrative password isFireport. The BIOS administrative password in your environment may differ. - Expand System Configuration and then select USB Configuration.

- Verify that the Enable USB Boot Support selection is cleared.

- Select Apply.

- Optionally select Save as Custom User Settings, then click OK.

- Select Exit.
