PowerFlex 3.6 "Overflow detected in network buffer.No enough space for even one object.Size 0"

Scenario
This situation might occur when a newer version of an SDC (i.e. 3.6) is connected to an older version of the MDM (i.e. 3.0). 

Symptoms
SDC logs contain the following warning:

2021-08-14T08:21:33.670Z cpu4:2098153)WARNING: PowerFlex mapClass_UpdateAll:497 :Error: Class 0x43107a0057f0(map_proxy_list) Overflow detected in network buffer.No enough space for even one object.Size 0. Needed at least 6

 

Impact 

There is no impact other than the warning in the messages.

Cause

This warning might appear when a newer version of the SDC communicates with an older MDM. Due to differences in memory allocation between the PowerFlex versions, SDC expects certain values from the MDM, which were not available in previous versions.
