PowerStore: Migrations in INITIALIZING state may cause LUN ID in use errors with an error message "Volume internal error 0x04"

Summary: Migrations in INITIALIZING state may cause LUN ID in use errors with an error message "Volume internal error 0x04."

This article applies to This article does not apply to This article is not tied to any specific product. Not all product versions are identified in this article.

Symptoms

If the user selects a Host LUN (HLU) when creating mapping and that HLU is in use, the REST API and UI returns an error message indicating that the HLU is in use. If there are migrations in the INITIALIZING state, the error message that is returned is less clear. In this case, the error message that is returned is an internal error message Volume internal error 0x04 and ig_tg_l_already_in_use.

Cause

The internal error is displayed to the user instead of a Dell core technical error message.

Resolution

The user may select another HLU value or let the system select one.
