Look Away Detect

When you turn your face away from the screen for more than 6 seconds, the computer screen dims to 0%. The screen will immediately brighten once it detects your face again.
Wake on Approach
The Wake on Approach setting enables quicker sign-in by automatically turning on the display when detecting your presence.
If the Windows Hello feature is enabled, the camera recognizes your face and automatically unlocks the computer. If Windows Hello is not enabled, your password is required to unlock the computer.
- Modern Standby must be enabled to use Wake on Approach. For more information, reference What is Modern Standby and how does it differ from S3 Standby.
- It may take up to 1 minute to fully enter Modern Standby before Wake on Approach will function.
- The Wake on Approach feature is suspended if the battery is low and not plugged in to a power source.
Walk Away Lock
The Walk Away Lock setting turns off the display and automatically locks the computer when you walk away for more than 60 seconds.
