Troubleshooting

Problems Possible solutions
Multiple displays are not working
  • The DA310 supports only a single display out at the one time.
Unable to read and write to an external SSD, HHD or Optical (CD, DVD, or Blu-Ray) drive when connected to the DA310
  • Some external devices require higher power than the DA310 can supply.
  • When the DA310 is not connected to a power pass-through port, you should connect the external device directly to the computer.
  • When the DA310 is connected to a power pass-through port, we recommend only connecting one device through the adapter. Connect any additional devices directly to the computer.
Power Surge Message appears when a device is connected to the DA310
  • The peripheral you connected requires more power than the DA310 can supply.
  • Disconnect any other devices connected through the adapter.
  • For devices that require more power, we recommend you connect them directly to the computer.
Wake on LAN, PXE boot, and MAC address pass-through do not work on the DA310
  • Does your computers BIOS support these features? If not, they do not work.
Resolution on monitor is lower than 4K 60 Hz when connected to the HDMI, DisplayPort, of the DA310
  • Check that the monitor is capable of supporting 4k 60 Hz.
  • 4K at 60 Hz is only supported on computers that support DisplayPort 1.3 or above, with a monitor that is capable of that.
  • 4K at 30 Hz is the maximum resolution available on computers that support below DisplayPort 1.3, with a capable monitor.
Video and/or Audio performance issues
  • Ensure that the computers drivers are up to date from the Dell Support site.
No Video on the monitor that is connected to the DA310
  • Ensure that all the cables are connected properly.
  • Disconnect the monitor from the adapter and wait for ten seconds before connecting it again.
Video is distorted or pixelated on the attached monitor
  • Ensure that all the cables are connected properly.
  • Check that the monitor and computer are set to the correct screen resolution.
The DA310 is not charging your computer or is charging really slowly. You may see a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark on the battery status icon.
  • The DA310 supports 90 W maximum through the power pass-through.
  • The DA310 reserves 15 W, so your computer gets 15 W less from the power source. This can cause the slow charging message to appear.
  • It is recommended that you connect the power source directly to the computer and not through the adapter.
