Symptoms

De NetWorker Management Console (NMC) of NetWorker Web User Interface (NWUI) wordt gebruikt om een virtuele machine (VM) uit te voeren die is hersteld naar een andere vSphere-omgeving. De herstelstatus van de consoles en het herstelsessielogboek tonen: 

YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS INFO:   [123] Disconnected from session on vCenter 'MY_VCENTER'.
YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS ERROR:  [123] Failed to recover to a new VM. Unable to load VM with MORef 'vm-###'.  Virtual machine with MORef 'vm-###' is not properly configured. Ensure VM is compatible with the vSphere Environment.


De vProxy /opt/emc/vproxy/runtime/logs/vbackupd/vbackup-engine.log Toont: 

YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS ERROR:  [123] 951eca88-1f61-48a2-98b7-4d39427e769a: Virtual machine with MORef 'vm-###' is not properly configured. Ensure VM is compatible with the vSphere Environment.

Cause

De vSphere-versie van de bronback-up is nieuwer dan de versie van de vSphere-omgeving voor herstel van het doel. De bronversie van vSphere is bijvoorbeeld 8.0 en de doelversie van vSphere is 7.0. De oudere vCenter-database of ESX-host herkent sommige van de nieuwe vSphere VM-kenmerken of -componenten niet tijdens de registratie. 
 

OPMERKING: Zelfs als beide vSphere-omgevingen dezelfde grote release zijn, moet de discrepantie op buildniveau worden geïdentificeerd.

Resolution

Het VM-herstel moet worden uitgevoerd in een vCenter/ESXi-omgeving met dezelfde (of nieuwere) versie van de vSphere-omgeving voor de back-up.

Compatibiliteit met VMware vCenter 

Meld u aan bij de VMware vSphere-webinterface voor zowel de bron- als doel-vCenter-omgeving. Klik op About VMware vSphere en controleer of het doel-vCenter dezelfde (of nieuwere) versie is als het bron-vCenter.

Controleer in de vCenter-omgeving van waaruit een back-up van de VM is gemaakt de compatibiliteitsdetails van de VM op het tabblad Overzicht van de VM. Dit toont de minimaal vereiste ESXi-versie:


Oracle Linux-menu

De ESXi-versie in de doel-VMware-omgeving moet dezelfde (of nieuwere) versie zijn.
