PowerEdge: How to Change the iDRAC Root Password in OpenManage Enterprise

Instructions

To change the iDRAC Root password, open the OpenManage Enterprise console:

  • Click in Monitor -> Jobs

OME Jobs Menu 

  • In Interface select RACADM CLI
  • In the Arguments, type the following command (set iDRAC.Users.<index>.Password <password>), Click Next
    • For example: set iDRAC.Users.2.Password P@ssw0rd

RACADM CLI Job optoins 

  • Click Select Devices

Select Target device

  • Select the devices that you want to change the password on.

Select the device from inventory list

  • Click in Next

Device Selected continue

  • Click in Finish

Set schedule for job

  • Go to Monitor -> Jobs, check if the Job is running
