Instructions

To change the TTL on DNS records created by the CIFS Servers on the Unity, please use the following examples, this example changes TTL to 600 seconds.

Add following line:
 
param dns updateTTL=600

To:
/nas/server/slot_2/param
/nas/server/slot_3/param
 
  •  Run the following to persist the config:
/nas/sbin/build_config /nas/server/slot_2 /nas/dos/slot_2
/nas/sbin/build_config /nas/server/slot_3 /nas/dos/slot_3
 
  •  Then Reboot SPs
 

Changing the TTL for DNS records created by the Unity NAS is possible.
To have this changed please contact your Support Representative because this is modification on NAS system file.

Altering that value will update the DNS TTL when the CIFS server registers with DNS server. TTL dictates how long it will be kept in client's buffer before refreshing its DNS related information.
